Tesla Powerwall Storm Watch Function
Back up power has really proved its value over the last few days as the country has experienced three storms; Dudley, Eunice & Franklin.
Our Tesla Powerwall customers with the Back Up Tesla Energy Gateway (TEG) have seen the benefit of the Storm Watch function.
Storm Watch is a function enabled by the system owner that allows Powerwall to charge up in readiness for a potential power cut. When a severe weather alert is received Powerwall will charge to 100% and remain charged until either there is a power outage or the storm passes.
In the event of a power cut Powerwall will automatically become your home’s energy source. Unlike generators, Powerwall keeps your lights on and phones charged without upkeep, fuel or noise. Pair with solar and recharge with sunlight to keep your appliances running for days.
Once the storm passes Powerwall returns to its normal status charging using surplus Solar energy or making use of off-peak tariffs.
