Introduction
Simon Hall Ltd, a leading removals, storage and shipping company in Worcester, decided to futureproof its business with renewable energy. In 2019, the company invested in solar technology and a Tesla Powerwall 2 to reduce operating costs, improve energy security and cut carbon emissions.
The Commercial Solar Panels Installed
The installation included 144 SunPower Maxeon 2 solar panels, each rated at 350W. Together, they provide 50.4kWp of peak power. To maximise efficiency, the system was paired with a Tesla Powerwall 2 battery, allowing Simon Hall Ltd to store surplus solar energy and use it during peak demand.
Timeline and Process
The project started in April 2019 and reached completion in January 2020. Over nine months, we designed, planned and installed the system with minimal disruption to the client’s day-to-day business.
Project Results
Since its commissioning in 2020, the solar and storage system has generated 309.61MWh of clean electricity. This has cut reliance on grid energy and delivered consistent financial returns, with a projected payback period of eight years.
Environmental Benefits
The Tesla Powerwall installation has already saved 59,888 kilograms of CO₂ emissions. This impact is equivalent to planting 3,623 trees, underlining Simon Hall Ltd’s strong commitment to sustainability.
